I've been here in Kuala Lumpur for about 10 months now.  During this time, I was able to sample a few exceptional noodle dishes around town but I have to say that Lai Foong Beef Noodle is my favorite.

A Japanese Ramen Cart in the streets of Malate

While walking around Malate last Saturday, T and I spotted a couple of Japanese tourists eating at the side of the road in what looks like a Japaneses Ramen Cart reminiscent of the ones found in the side streets of Japan. I got curious and checked out what the cart is serving. And yes! It was RAMEN indeed!

T and I went to Trinoma last Sunday to watch Skyfall, the latest and probably the best James Bond film to be released since Goldfinger. And since we still have more than an hour to spare before the screening, we decided to have a quick dinner at Ramen X.  A Japanese casual dining restaurant that specializes in (and yes, you guessed it) Ramen.

Noodle Mania at Kanzhu Hand-Pulled Noodles

T and I met with our foodie friends, Mark and China and their baby Mateo for dinner earlier today and we decided to visit Kanzhu Hand-Pulled Noodles along Timog Avenue in Quezon City.  The place is quite small but it has that hole-in-the-wall charm typically found in small restos.

While browsing through the menu, we were given a complimentary starter of crispy Fish Skin Crackers.  It was crispy and the taste was good.  Almost reminiscent of the crispy chicken skin that I used to buy in food stalls at the mall.

Walking Towards Wai Ying

T and I went to Binondo earlier today for lunch and I decided to visit an old favorite, Wai Ying Fast Food along Benavidez St.  We got in 20 minutes before noon and got seated right away, we were lucky to have arrived a bit early since the place filled up in less than 10 minutes after we sat down on our table.

T decided to order their Beef Mami and her fail-safe Pork Siomai. (And yes, she never fails to order the most mundane items on the menu).  The soup was tasty and the noodles were springy.  The beef was soft and tender.  Overall, its good but its quite too common for me.
