HON KEE PORRIDGE

Like most Filipinos currently working here in KL, I always go to Kota Raya at least once a month to stock up on Pinoy products like Mang Tomas, Sinigang Mix and the likes.  And everytime I do, I always indulge on a side trip to Hon Kee Porridge across the road, inside the Petaling Street market area.

AYAM PENYET ENAK INDO CUISINE

After an hour of walking around the mall trying to decide what to have for lunch, I decided to try out this small Indonesian kiosk inside the Food Republic food court where quite a number of people are lining up.  The stall is called Ayam Penyet Enak.

LAI FOONG BEEF NOODLE

I've been here in Kuala Lumpur for about 10 months now.  During this time, I was able to sample a few exceptional noodle dishes around town but I have to say that Lai Foong Beef Noodle is my favorite.

THE STORY SO FAR

Okay, so what happened?

Last December 2012, I received news that I need to go to Kuala Lumpur for a year for work.

I had to leave in such short notice, I foolishly forgot to bring my camera and laptop (Of all things).  Work had been quite hectic right from the get go and being unfamiliar with the new territory plus the constant homesickness and occasional language barrier has proved to be quite a challenge.  Sadly, the blog had to temporarily take a back seat while I struggled to settle in.

Welcome to Kuala Lumpur

Road Trip To Near The Sky Bulalo

Last weekend, T and I met up with some of our best buddies and went to an impromptu road trip to Tagaytay to visit our favorite bulalo place which for us, serves the best bulalo in this part of town.  A hole-in-the-wall type of joint candidly called Near The Sky Bulalo.

Awesome Submarine Sandwiches at Hoagies

T and I were invited along with fellow food bloggers to visit Hoagies at SM North Annex a few weeks ago to try out their amazing offerings and we were both blown-away by their mouthwatering submarine sandwiches.

Good Food and Good Company at Watami

T and I had the chance to be among the first to dine in the newly opened Watami Japanese Casual Restaurant last week in MOA and we both had an awesome experience.  Aside from meeting fellow food bloggers for the first time, we were also able to sample Watami's amazing signature dishes and it was indeed a lunch that we will always remember.
