Birthday Dinner at Abe'

It was my Mom's birthday last week so we decided to go out and have dinner at Abe' in SM Mall of Asia.  Abe' is a restaurant dedicated to the late artist and writer, E. Aguilar "Abe" Cruz, father of the legendary restaurateur Larry J. Cruz.  I was meaning to try this restaurant out for the longest time so I was quite glad that everyone agreed to visit this place.

Felymar's Special Bibingka

T wanted Bibingka the other day so we trooped out to our all time favorite Bibingka place at Tayuman candidly called Felymar's Special Bibingka.   This is one of those hole-in-the-wall type of joint that specializes on a single dish, which in their case is Bibingka and they're really REALLY good at it.

Lola Ely's Tapsilog ATBP.

After our visit at Chades Tapsilog, I asked T if she wants to try another old school eatery in Bambang called Lola Ely's Tapsilog.  This place has also been a favorite chow down spot for me and my classmates back in college whenever we visit the pioneering Ukay-Ukay's in this part of Manila.

We recently visited a friend who lives in Tayuman so T and I decided to swing by Chades Tapsilog, a small and unassuming place that is frequented by students and blue-collar workers alike who wants to have a quick and delicious meal. The eatery used to be located along Rizal Ave. near the Bambang Station of LRT but it has now moved to Remigio St. which is a block away from its former location.

After our pit stop at Kabigting's Halo-Halo, we proceeded to Everybody's Cafe in San Fernando for dinner.  This place has been around for ages and is considered an institution when it comes to serving delicious Capampangan fare.  This is the place to be if you want to get a taste of true-blue Capampangan cuisine.

After our short stop at the Historic Camalig Restaurant, we visited Kabigting's Halo-Halo for dessert in the nearby mall.  It was nice that they had a branch in the mall since Arayat, where this awesome dessert originated from is still a 30-minute drive away from where we are.

T's sister, Meg invited us to go on a road trip to Pampanga recently and of course we both said yes.  Who doesn't like road trips anyway?  Well my friend Andy probably, but that is a totally a different story hehe. Anyway, our journey took us to the Historic Camalig Restaurant in Angeles City.
